PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB:

The position serves as a part of a comprehensive team of communications, marketing, recruitment, and student services staff to provide services and support to carry out comprehensive recruiting, admission, student success, and retention programs for prospective and current students, including underrepresented populations. Conducts outreach including making presentations, conducts campus tours, coordinates school visitations, and participates in college fairs, community activities, and business events. Cultivates partnerships with high school counselors and advisors, under-served groups, community agencies, alumni, and staff to meet college goals and enhance recruitment initiatives. Advises prospective students regarding admissions, educational planning, and transfer opportunities. Must travel as necessary to carry out job duties and participate in occasional evening and weekend commitments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field closely related to the essential job functions or a combination of an Associate's degree and equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective public speaking and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies.
  • Ability to create and present a variety of presentations with charisma and an engaging style.
  • Computer skills in MS Office, presentation software, and database experience or customer relations management software.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the value and advantages of a community college education.
  • Ability for substantial travel (day, evening, overnight and weekends) to carry out duties of the position.
  • Occasional long and irregular hours necessitated by special projects, compliance with deadlines and registration periods.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.
  • Recent work experience in higher education.
  • Experience in higher education student recruitment.

About Morgan Community College (MCC):

MCC is one of 13 colleges comprising the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). The college has consistently been named a Great College to Work For by the Chronicle of Higher Education in the past decade.

MCC is located on I-76, 80 miles northeast of Denver and approximately 100 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park. MCC provides high quality lower division transferable courses and occupational education culminating in a variety of certificate, associate, and baccalaureate degree programs through traditional, innovative, and non-traditional delivery methods to an 11,500 square mile service area in eastern Colorado.

The College serves this vast, rural, agricultural area from its main campus in Fort Morgan and through four regional locations in Bennett, Limon, Burlington and Wray. These locations are 75 to 150 miles from the campus in Fort Morgan.
